Socal Rider

I just bought a used 2002 954rr. I owned a 929 back when they were new but had it stolen after a month, then got a smoking deal on a ZX9r and rode that for a few years, then got a 2005 ZX6R which lasted a month before being destroyed by a left turning cage driver.

So now I am back to a fireblade, and fixing it up, riding it as a DD, and doing rides.

Looking to get good tech info, hopefully some good deals on some parts, and maybe find some riding partners.

Re: Socal Rider

Howdy!

I had an 02 954...great bike!

Me and quite a few others often meet at the 7-11 on Oro Vista in Sunland around 9-10a and ride up the backside of Angeles Crest. Although the front is freshly re-paved, the Chippy's work the front much more.

Of course if you wanna ride the front, there's usually a group meeting in the morning at the Shell gas station.

Peace

Re: Socal Rider

Thanks for the welcome guys. Installed a new battery and a power commander over the weekend. I cant believe what a bitch it was to get to the connector though. Took me forever to find it, it was so buried in there. In contrast the ZX6R and the F4i were snaps. Took me 5 minutes to install and just the removal of the top of the plastic. The gas tank had to be practically taken off for the 954... Glad I only had to do that once.

Now its time to get it taken in for the CCT replacement and valve job in a few weeks.

Re: Socal Rider

Sounds like you have had a hard time with your bikes. Try doing a power course. They are great fun, will teach you to avoid accidents and they do some great rideouts. Also get a ground anchor which will stop the thieves.

Good luck.
