Done hibernating in MT

My first time on the forum. First I would like to comment on all of the knowledge combined on this site. Anytime I had a question on the Internet I was sent to this site. I pulled the bike out yesterday and can't wait to get riding. Wow what a long winter. Last fall I bought a 929 and I love everything about it. Look forward to chattin.

Re: Done hibernating in MT

Welcome aboard. Love Montana in the summer (I'm up there every July) - but I have to say, Oklahoma is better in the winter. It's warm enough to ride here some days in November and February. I've been getting in a lot of riding in the last three weeks. Friday it was so warm in the evening that I left my jacket at home.

Nice, another Big Sky'er on here.

Agreed on winter. I have had mine out just about everyday these past few weeks. And while I hate to see winter go early, I am loving getting back on the bike!

Re: Done hibernating in MT

I can't wait to ride again. I pulled mine out and the battery is so bad it won't even take a charge so a new one is on the way. Now I ran into a new problem. I bought some tires on the internet thinking that I would save some money. Now none of the shops will mount them because "I didn't buy them at the shop so they can't do it for insurance reasons." Getting frustrated but they won't keep me down. Keep ya posted.

Find another shop, even if they don't carry Honda. I have gotten that a little bit around here, but its mainly due to other factors (ie, poor management/ownership, upselling, etc). Now I have heard of shops not mounting tires that are old or used for insurance reasons. Basically this shop that you are talking about is trying to hose you and get you to buy at MSRP so they can gain a huge profit off of you, which you should never pay.

Find a new shop. I'll ask my buddy here who bought his bike in Missoula and how now has it there get some major tuning done. They seem very good and he is quite picky with his bike. I'll shoot you a PM when I know more ...

Let us know how the battle goes and if you find any shop that will do it, let us know, too! Don't let a crappy shop ruin it for you. For every great shop there are about four poor ones.
