| Re: Newbie2Fireblade.org Hey!
The RC has always been a favorite since I started riding but there were always other "new" sportbikes coming out. Each "new" sportbike lead me from one to the other and I never took the chance to own the RC. Now that I have an excuse (explaining to wife I need to commute) I thought that I'd take the chance to finally own one.
What are your thoughts on my decision on using this bike as a commuter? |

| Re: Newbie2Fireblade.org just an in town commuter? Or hitting the twists and turns on the weekend? An RC51 may be overkill. A 600Fi would be more fun and a lot more manageable. |

It'll be about 25 freeway miles to the San Francisco from the Silicon Valley so not really local. I've thought of the idea of buying some beater, but I didn't want to waste money on something uninteresting. I'm on my last string of patience waiting for a "real" kick ass 600cc sportbike and so far nothing has enough power unless you plan on spending an extra $10k or constantly downshifting on the freeway. |

Not too worried about fuel because my old 04 cbr6rr (after mods) only got around 25-28 mpg so I figured if I leave the RC alone I should get around the same. Plus, IMO I think liter bikes last longer if you wanted milage out of them. I'm starting to re-think now.... |

on price/mileage alone I'd have to say #1 is a no brainer

| Re: Newbie2Fireblade.org I would go for option 1, it almost the same price and 3 years younger plus you'll be able to do more than 100 mile on a tank. |
