| Taillight issues What's up everybody, glad I finally found a site devoted to Hondas......hopefully someone can help me out. I have a 2004 1000 rr with a clear alternatives taillight. I'm not getting any light from the taillight itself, but my brake light and turn signals are working fine. I thought it was the taillight itself and I called clear alternatives, they told me if the stock light still works(it did) to send their light back for a replacement. Got a new light back and the same thing is happening.......can somebody help me? |

First thing you need is a wiring diagram to see what wire actually controls that rear light. Sounds like it's just not hooked up correctly or there's a break in that wire someplace down the line. |

If you can re hook up the old tail light again and it works, but the C.A. does not, then there is an issue with their light. But considering you have to cut and splice the wires, I'm still thinking something is not hooked up right. C.A. and all these other manufacturers could sell a LOT more units if they would take a little more time and expense to hook up plugs and not make people cut and splice. It would cost them more sure, but they could and would also charge more. I would have paid a bit extra if everything were "plug-n-play" and I didn't have to splice stuff. |

| Re: Taillight issues Only thing I had to splice were the turn signals, the tail lights had adapters on them that hooked up. At any rate this isn't helping the guy.
Would hate to guess that the 2nd light is also bad, can test the lines to see if there is constant current through them while the bike is running to make sure that there is nothing broken on your end, otherwise I think you may be sending another light back |

| Re: Taillight issues I would say something is wrong with the light also. I have an 05 and the only thing I did was cut the connectors off the old T/S and use them on the CA integrated light. |
