Hello there... New owner here

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Just picked up a left over 06 1000rr today. Red and black.

Went from a 99 r6. What a difference

Re: Hello there... New owner here

I have the same bike and traded up from an 03 r6, yeah the bike is a monster. Its not the fastest liter bike out there, but its still well beyond my capabilities, I'm in no danger of outgrowing this bike lol

I have a red/black '06 also. Had it about 2 and half months. Lucky for me here in So Cal I can ride every day. Enjoy.

Re: Hello there... New owner here

Couple small upgrades and the 06-07 can handle the heat with any of the rest. I can't speak to the 04-05.

I've taken the pepsi challenge with a gsxr and an r1, and both loved the way my sato exhaust sounded!

How would you describe the exhaust note? I prefer the low & throaty types vs the loud as hell Indy car types.

Re: Hello there... New owner here

I would definitely call it low and throaty. My friend with the GSX-R described it as rich. He has an M4 Moto-gp style and I can hear mine over his, so it is loud as all hell, too.

Re: Hello there... New owner here

I have the Yosh RS-5 that came on the bike when I bought it. Wasn't sure at first how I liked it but it has grown on me. Check out 1000rr.net to hear other exahaust notes ffrom other brands.
