| New from Sydney Hey all, Just got the reminder to introduce myself... have been registered with you lot for a while but never posted because I've been busy catching up on all the previous posts. I've only recently (since beginning of this year... - Yikes!!! That was 6 months ago) got myself a 2002 954 (Blue)... was a road bike that was converted to a track bike after 10k km. It wears race glass and has a 1000RR front end (forks, brakes), an Ohlins rear shock, PCIII, and a trick 19mm billet master cylinder brake assembly. All the road gear is wrapped and sitting safely under the house...  It's waiting for a full Akrapovic exhaust system and the HRC shock linkage to be installed,I moved up from a 1993 VFR750 that I crashed and rebirthed as a trackbike in 2004... then trashed it again while at the Phillip Island GP circuit. Turn 8, 200kph... missed a gear and speared off the track before the front tucked under on the grass slamming me into the ground and cartwheeling once I hit the gravel!!! It hurt like buggery but luckily the bike wasn't too badly damaged. So now it's in the process of being restored to road duties. The 954 is a great little package - light, powerful (compared to the VFR) and very nimble (again compared to the VFR). Can't wait to get some decent track time on her... And looking forward to spending more time getting to know some of you other blade nutters. RDM | |

| Re: New from Sydney How's it goin, don't want to know why you're called dicknose but I suspose it's bloody obvious. Wrote my first (02) 954 off at Oran Park, turn 1, was doing 244 down the straight and lost the front in the corner, the rest is as they say history, so was the bike.Those gravel traps smack you around don't they when you cartwheel about 8 times. I've got an 03 954 now and plan to keep it in one piece other wise I'll have no bike and no missus I reckon. Catch you nutters later.  |

| Re: New from Sydney Got the nickname many years ago - damn over 20 years ago. Made the mistake of working with the guys from uni that gave me the name and soon everyone at work was calling me that including my boss! If anyone is Sydney sees a Subaru Forester XT with bullbars and "dicknose" down the left side of the windscreen - wave, its me! |
