| Re: EASY EVERYONE!!! Hi Dave and . Most people here are pretty friendly, with the odd exception.
How's life back home? I live in Thailand now and have for the last three years, so any news from Blighty is cool. I guess the weather's not exactly great for riding right now. Is it affecting you?
I'm not 100% sure but I might be able to find your fairing bits and pieces from here, if you've no luck going through the usual channels first.
I've been very reluctant to suggest this before because 1st, the Thais love to cheat a farang (that's us westerners) so the prices might not be comparable or the parts correct (so send me clear and accurate pictures of what you need, if you're interested). 2nd, postage of any kind from here seems expensive to me (but I might of been living here too long) and 3rd, the Thai baht is extremely strong right now.
Anyway, like I said, if you've no joy going the usual route let me know and i'll see what I can do. |

| Re: EASY EVERYONE!!! Well SamoanzRR, I can assure you it wasn't me. For a start, as stated above, i've not been home for three years - I live in Thailand. 2nd, I value my reputation (and I'm not talking about "Rep points" here) and try to treat people as I wish to be treated. 3rdly, As I pointed out, all factors would have to be acceptable to Lickshot before going forward.
If I wasn't entirely happy with what was available here, I most certainly would not offer it to Lickshot. Please note, I said in my original reply he should see this as a last resort. I'm just trying to help someone sort their bike out - if I can.
I have to admit that I feel a little offended by your implication. Have I ever "scammed" you, or anybody else on this site for that matter? |

| Re: EASY EVERYONE!!! that bike looks damn fine. I had a cbr600f3 (1998) and it was simular, black/gold. That blade of yours is a real head tunrer...keep her rubber side down and front wheel up!
by the way if you are gonna get the wheels powder coated make sure you get a gloss finish. I had a matt finish done on another CBR, was a super job but a bit dull when you looked at it! |

| Re: EASY EVERYONE!!! Nice pic, nice bike, Lickshot. I think my bike's suffering the same as yours where the wheels are concerned. Every time I wash her I can see more shiny metal rather than black paint, usually around the rims on the front wheel but lately the rear too. Is powder-coating the only way forward in stopping this problem? |

| Re: EASY EVERYONE!!! Its a pain in the bum hey... i dont think that there is much more you can do other than get them shot blasted and powder coated... i wanted mine done black with a polished rim but places around where i am cant seem to do this to motorbike wheels.... So im just going to opt for gloss black and maybe get a silver rim sticker/strip.. Been quoted £50 for both wheels to be done which i didnt think was too bad... ive got to strip out the bearings tho...but think they will be looking much better when i get them back and put back on...

| Re: EASY EVERYONE!!! cheers matey... i took off the grabrail yesterday and damn it looks so much better!!!!
oh and listen to this!!! I havent had the bike very long and its been sat in a mates garage and ive only been out a couple of times on it and it felt really boggy down low and was jumping around a bit... so, i thought it was probably the plugs and filter. Yesterday i took off the fuel lines to the tank and then off came the tank... 2 bolts at the top and 1 at the bottom with a bit tophat washer(or should i say its meant to have 1!!)It had 2 dodgy washers on it!!! anyway took the tank off, unscrewed the filterbox and split it from the bottom part... i then looked at the filter which seemed to be brand new ... then i looked down into the carbs and OH MY DEAR GOD!!! The tophat washer that should be on the fuel tank was jamming open carb no 4!!! some1 had dropped it down there and obviously not noticed!! .. so i rectified this and straped the tank back on and took her out..
and wow!!! what a bloody difference!!! she is now twice the bike she was whilst getting overloaded with juice in carb 4!!!! I have now fell in love with it all over again!!!
Chatting to a couple of people, and they seem to think maybe this is why i got it cheap as it wasnt running too great... Their loss and my superb gain hey!!!
The sun has started to shine in england over the past couple of days now so out she comes for a caining meeee's thinks!!!
Speak to ya soon people!!
