FNG from Middle Peninsula

Hi, I thought I'd introduce mysef since I haven't done so. I'm a relatively new rider since I got my learner's back in May and got my endorsement after I took the MSF course last month. I got my 1kRR, silver and black '07 just over a month ago and like riding it. Only things I've got on it so far are little bolt-ons like pegs, sliders (vortex, they suck so I have a set of FI I ordered two weeks ago I still haven't gotten) and black lever. I've got some ideas I'm kicking around for a new paint scheme, exhaust, diy FE, et c.
Here she is after I installed the sliders. Cutting those fairings was fun...

Juggernaut, and keep that lovely bike of yours sunny side up. I've got to say I have no idea why you'd want to change the colour scheme. I think it looks fab just as it is. But then it's your bike so your choice.
You say you're a new rider. My advice is to just enjoy riding the bike as it is, at least for awhile. But then my bike's 15+ years old so I have to take a wrench to it fairly regularly just to keep it running. Not something you have to worry about with an '07 Cbr.

I agree with you on enjoying it the way it is. I rode around all this morning and this afternoon running errands and visiting some friends I haven't seen in a while all while using about a third what my car would chug like it was a beer bong at a frat party. If/when I start going to trackdays, I'll start wrenching on it, but a "superbike" doesn't really need suspension and/or power mods like a typical American car does. Like I said, I was kicking the paint scheme ideas. Nothing wild, just painting the lowers silver and then maybe adding blue striping/accents inspired by the Brabus polizei CLS.

Yeah, I see what you mean. But I still can't help thinking it looks better as it is.
Having said that, I'm thinking of changing the colour of my bike. At the moment its got yellow front and side fairings + tank with "carbon fibre look" lower half and tail. I'm now thinking two-tone gun metal colours thoughout. I would have probably not bothered for the reasons I said earlier, but I had an off with it recently so I can't ride it until I've recovered anyway. So I might as well use this time to get it done.

if you're really considering tracking it... spend your first mod money on suspension! :thumg:

I think tapeworks.com may have the kind of racing stripes you're looking for. Sweet looking bike. Be sure to post up any changes you make

Did you have to cut holes at the edge of the fairings? I bought some sliders from Sato that were obviously developed for the 04-05 model, and they would require the holes that open up the edge. I'm not too comfortable with that, so they'll probably be for sale if Dan Kyle won't take them back.
