Hey all.

I've been riding dirt bikes for 8 or so years now, and now I'm getting into street bike riding. I got my motorcycle license a few months ago, and I've been riding my brother's ZX6R and my mom's 250 Rebel around for a while, but now that I have a job and some money, I've decided it's time I get a 919.

I had narrowed it down between a Buell Firebolt or Lightning and a 919, but overall, even though I like the radical look of the Buells, the comfort, speed, and slick styling of the 919 won me over. So I'm looking for a used 919 in the southern CA area now. I can only afford ~$4000, so my options are rather limited, but I've found some deals out there.

I was wondering if someone could give me a rough estimate what 919s run in the 1/8 and / or 1/4 mile? Because I plan on racing my bike eventually (Not right off the bat, I'm giving myself plenty of time to learn the bike). I race a 1999 Pontiac Trans Am, so I'm not unfamiliar with drag racing.

Wow! you've come to the right place so welcome. Nice to hear your going Honda over Buell - It might be a good idea to post questions in the "general" section. More people will see them and respond to them that way. I'm doing a mixture of dirt and road riding these days.
