Removing 954 engine Need to know the easiest way to remove my motor from my 954. I have all the bolts except the one that attaches the swing arm, loose. I had a friend do it the hard way by lowering it to the ground and walking it out from the frame. There has to be an easier way, right.

Re: Removing 954 engine the motor should drop right down i believe, but not sure. because the swingarm bolts into the retainer or wussenver. the motor is bolted to the frame with 5 bolts i believe. Should be just that easy.

Re: Removing 954 engine I actually have two 954RR's. One of them I ride pretty hard. Wheelies, stoppies, you name it. I beat the hell out of this bike. The other is stretched and chromed out for my normal rides. It is not common, but if you properly do the required maintence, your bike will last for a very long time. Remember to respect the bike. I have a friend who has a 2000 GSXR 1000 with over 84,000 miles and it still pulls strong with the original motor. Yup..
