bike will be driven by not so-mechanical, mid-size women. I need to keep budget together, need realiable and a bike that will handle 75 mph, 2 hours a day and get 55 mpg..i have the opportunity to get any of these 3 models...i have test driven the cx500 custom...love and sold on this engine...

Never really heard a bad thing about the old CX's....they are just not my style...look too much like a BMW(engine wise)..i can not reconmend a finer ride then the GL(i've had two). try if you can to take a CB out for a spin([77'
or78']500,[80' to 83']650,[79' to current]750). They are rock solid and easy to mantain.

My father has an old CX500 Custom and the bike runs as good as it did the day it came off the showroom floor with minimal maintenance. Great bike.
