Hey from NC Just wanted to stop in and say hey to everyone. I am in Mooresville,NC,just north of Charlotte. I've been riding since I was 7, and riding street bikes since I was 18, I'm now 23. I just picked up my 96 900rr last week, on a trade for my old SV650. This will make my 8th street bike, no I'm no newbie. She needs some work, but it's gonna be one heck of a winter project. I plan on getting a new fairing kit for her, (one of the ones from hong kong). And do some powder coating. I'll post a pic up when i can find my digi. I've been searching for a CBR forum and must say this is by far the best one.

Re: Hey from NC Welcome, I'm also from NC, 2 hours east of Raleigh. Let us know how those fairings work out. I've been looking at some of those, but I've always been leary of things from the far east with great prices.

Re: Hey from NC Hey, my name is michael and I'm from Concord, N.C. I just purchased my first bike; a 2008 Honda CBR600rr in pearl orange and black. I haven't put but about 100 miles on it so far because of the weather, but I can't wait for the summer. I'm 24 now and have always wanted a bike and now I finally have one. Any good advice or tips? All is appreciated. This is my first bike. My only experience is on quads and some dirt bikes, but I have a good feel for it, but I'm only human. Anyone close to Concord?

Re: Hey from NC Cool, Sounds good. I'll check up the website out first. Its good to know that others don't mind riding year round. A lot of people complain about how cold the weather is. And just some quick q's? I have my bike stored in like a small metal 10x12 building right now and also, would i have to put my bike on a stand and prep it for winter or would it be okay as long as I get out and ride it maybe a few times a month? People say that the batteries are quick to go also but what about the maintenance free ones? Any advice on winter storage? Thanks for all the help, maybe I can get up that way sometime.

Re: Hey from NC I'm not 100% about storage as I have never done it. But if you do it's a good idea to use fuel stabilizer in the tank. For the battery, a decent trickle charger would do the trick. I would think as long as you start it up every other week or so, it should be fine. But if you could ride it up and down the block occasionally that would be best. The yusa batteries are the best from what I hear. When mine goes bad I just get the $40 walmart one. It usually last's at least 2 years. I think they are mostly all maintenance free.
