| Another Canuck onboard. Just here to say hi. I don't have my bike yet, but I am saving up for it and should be buying one in the next 3-4 months. I'm looking forward to lots of info exchanges and learning tons about the CBR1000. |

Let me turn it around. What's up with the "Yankee" nickname? |

| Re: Another Canuck onboard. There are bastards everywhere, even here in Canada. But if you want to find the freindliest people you've ever met, go to the most eastern province in Canada, Newfoundland. I met a guy who was on a plane headed for Newfoundland once. There was a "Newf" sitting beside him who was heading home. Well they started talking and before they had even left the ground, the Newf had invited this total stranger over to his house for dinner when they landed! Now that's freindliest damn thing I've ever heard of! |

I am exactly sure why Americans are called yankee, but around here people call them that when they are from the NE states like New York and New Jersey. It might be because of the accents.
But i think it started during the revoutionary war, some type of independece statement or something to signify non-british. There is a song yankee Doodle that ever kid learns when they are little.
oh and by the way, welcome to the board. |
