Hello From Miami, FL

Intro:
I'll first start with my bike. I have a 2006 CBR 600RR that I drive all over town and to and from work. It's still stock as of right now (other than frame sliders...) I've owned it for over a year and unfortunately have already layed it down but nevertheless am still riding again. I repaired the bike myself and def learned a lot about how it works on a very intergrated level, but still have a couple of things wrong that I need fixed but am heisitant to take to a shop to diagnois. Details come later...

Bike details:
I have the bike "naked" at the moment; it only has the front mask, tank and rear cowl fairings on right now, the others were pulled off because of the accident. The bike looks relatively decent but I really want to start to make it "Like NEW" again. It runs amazing for a 600 but there are a couple of things that concern me. The number one thing is that the red led oil light flashes twice in .5 sec intervals and then stops for every 5 sec. Along with that, the FI light is on in the gauge cluster. I read and found that it says that its the MAP sensor vacuum hoses, or sensor itself, but I need to figure out how to fix it and if it really needs to go into the shop to get fixed. It also has a really hard time starting, especially when cold, but does it as well when hot. I figure that its probably from the same reason that the light is on, but it could be an assortment of things. I do usually let the fuel prime before trying to turn it over, but i just have to give it plenty of throttle,(like at least 2500 RPMs) to keep it from wanting to stall.

This is what I def need help on. If you can give some advice or at least point me in the right direction, then thank you in advance.

I should be uploading pictures really soon, so stay tuned!

I'm not sure of the code, but if it is for a bad map sensor that can def cause your problems... I would inspect it first(maybe its unpluged) then try a used one and see what happens. Good luck

Re: Hello From Miami, FL

Thanks for the advice. I went through the steps and looked at the MAP sensor and it looked to be in good working order and plugged in. I ended up popping open the FI fuse under the front seat and turns out there wasn't a fuse in there!!! so i took the spare out of the fuse box and it runs like it should, again...
