| Good day from Nova Scotia Hi, just one more intro thread. Name's James Millar, I ride a '94 Triumph Daytona 1200. Started looking around comparing the different bikes out there and happened to stumble across this.
The 1200, by the way, is my first bike. I bought it before I'd ever even climbed on a bike, and taught myself to ride it. Bad choice, probably, but I made it through a season and love it.
Now I'm considering (not for this coming summer, but the next one - pays to think ahead I guess) a new bike, and Honda does appeal to me. I'm looking for something that's up there in performance, I like the 1000rr, but one major thing concerns me. At a short-legged / long torso 5'8" I'm actually pretty much at my limit on the Triumph. It has a 31.1 inch seat height and the new bikes (1000rr, Yahama R1, I imagine the equivalent Suzuki) have 32 and a fraction. Can I lower it enough that it'll be comfortable?
The lighter weight (the Daytona comes to pretty much 500 dry) should help some. If this one was lighter, it wouldn't be bad, its just heavy and I've been told that has a relatively high CG. |
