Hi Motrcycle lovers!

My name is Sherab and I'm new at this forum, I found it by searching on Fireblade. I'm in the prosess of purchasing a Honda CBR 900rr model 1998. I'm norwegian, but now living in Benidorm Spain. I,ve had a few motorcycles and the last one was a Royal Endfield 500 bought new in India in 1995, it's a very different bika altogether. The Fireblade is on belgian plates right now and the dealer needs to get it registered on spanish plates.
I will not pay for it before everything is in order. I tried the bike and it runs very well and feels good to me, but I'm wondering if any of you guys could give me some advice what possible fault or weaknesses I should look for to be sure that it is in good condition, because good looks is not all and I do know that a bike like this is usually runned quite hard.
Regards, Sherab

Re: Hi Motrcycle lovers!

Welcome.

The more people on the forum running 1998 FireBlades the better off we all are, in my opinion. My 1998 'Blade is a very recent purchase and the sort of things I have discovered have been, I think, normal wear and tear worsened by lack of attention. So I soon will freshen up the forks and shock, new chain and sprockets (bought but not yet installed), will upgrade the brake lines and might need new rotors. But these are basically routine maintenance issues and not RRW specific problems as far as I am aware.

Royal Endfield!

Hi! No I've studied buddhist philosofy and practice for many years and this lead me to live in the Himalayas for more than 7 years. But we are talking about a very different motorcycle altogether, but then driving an Enfield in India can maybe be compared with driving a Fireblade in Europe
