| Hello Hi,
Brand new to this forum. I am a CBR 1000 owner wannabe. I am looking @ buying one (brand new 2006 from a showroom floor). Previously I owned a 2002 GXR 750. However, I sold it about 2 yrs ago.
I am looking for advice........
Dealer is asking $9488 + freight, tax and title. Blue & Yellow factory colors.
1. Is this too much?
2. He is offering a 4 yr warranty over and above the usual 1 yr for the price of a 3 yr warranty ($550.00)
Thanks for allowing me to join. Looking forward to all inputs.
Cheers!

| Re: Hello
Before you even do anything, shop around and ask what the final price would be including tax/freight etc - you maybe surprised.
Have you got any riding experience?

| Re: Hello I would not call myself very experienced. I have a total of about 7 yrs worth of riding experience.
Thanks! |

Thanks! | Total years means nothing. (to me anyway)
Total miles is more important(more importantly, total recent miles)

| Re: Hello Since I am new, I figure I will break the good news here. Yes, I bought the bike I was looking at. She is beautiful!
I am very happy so far. Living in the NE, and being fairly new to riding (6 Yrs), I am gun-shy about riding on back roads that still have salt residue on them. I am hoping that the weather warms up soon.
Cheers! |

| Re: Hello Thanks for the heads-up. You are right......I took it for a short 10 min ride over the weekend. Afterwards, I realized how tight I was on the bike.
All in good time......... |

| Re: Hello I just looked at eBay last night and there were at least three blue and yellow ones in great shape and it would save you all the extra costs the dealership adds in. |

| Re: Hello You are right in thinking that I could have paid a little lower than I did (if I had bought it from a private owner or through Ebay). However, considering all the factors that went into my decision, I believe I came away with a sweet deal. |
