New New Englander

Got my Super Hawk about a month ago and stumbled on this site. Thought I'd say hello. I have a 2002 VTR1000 with CF Muzzy cans, K&N filter, jetted and Pyramid lower fairing. Actually, scratch the last one. I'm tryin to sell that, I like the stock look better. Anyway, Hi.

Re: New New Englander

sweet. I like it better with the stock bikini bottom too.
a friend of mine just bought a 98. he has some Jardine high mounts, sounds awesome but look like they've been on there since 98. So he just bought some nice ones off ebay. hopefully we can finish some general maintenance this week and get them on too.

Re: New New Englander

I've heard the Jardine's sound great. Can't say I've heard them myself though. I like the Muzzy's on mine now. No plans to change that. I have some general maintenance I want to tackle but think I'll wait till I check my valves in 3k. I'll be in there then so perfect time to change out the stock CCT to my new APE CCT's I have sittin in the garage. Now is the perfect time to be working on the bike anyway, to cold to ride.

should be plenty warm enough in a couple weeks. supposed to be almost 50 on wednesday. too bad I had to freakin work. but I have tuesday off so we're gonna finish up putting his new chain on, bleed the clutch, maybe bleed the brakes and if we're lucky do the exhaust.

Re: New New Englander

Nice, I just put a new Gold RK chain and JT sprockets on mine about two weeks ago. Pretty easy work even without the special tool to mushroom the rivets. Now I'm waiting on my battery tender to arrive. Think I killed the battery trying to start it today because I need to get it inspected. Big twins don't like cold weather.
