| hey! I'm just sending out a 'hello' to the crowd. I'm pretty new to the bike world.
I bought an '01 F4i late spring of '07. I had been eyeing sport bikes since I was in college, and after incessant emails from a fellow co-worker with an '02 GXR1000, I bit the bullet. I grew up riding and racing quads, but always felt clumsy on dirtbikes. I listened to several people talk about sport bikes, how much power they had, and horror stories of how quick they got away from them. When I first rode a sport bike (AFTER getting mine to the house) my first impression was "is this it??" My co-worker says that I have picked it up faster than anyone he has ever seen. He wanted to put me on his Gixxer the first day out. (I guess all of that quad racing paid off) I declined. I did ride it later only to realize that while the 1000 did cause and ear to ear grin, that I didn't need that much trouble available at the twist of a grip.
I joined to gain as much insight as I could from the people who know about bikes. I research everything. When I was in college, the F4i was at the top of it's class, so that's what I wanted. I'm a gear head. I twist all of my own wrenches. I installed the Manual Timing Chain tensioner since that rattle was making me grind my teeth. I'm sure I will be tweaking on my bike in the months to come, so any advice or insight is greatly appreciated.

| Re: hey! Just due to past experience, when I felt like I had topped my bike, it always suprises me... Have you taken it to the track yet? Just a thought.
