Re: break-in procedure

Drive as hard as you can, change the oil after 600 miles and get everything else adjusted after 1000 miles. But the key is to run the machine as hard as possible.

Are you being sarcastic because I heard just the opposite. My dealer suggested I should not really open her up until after the 600mi service.

Re: break-in procedure

Vary the RPMs, nothing constant. Obey the speed laws, you shouldnt go wrong with those two tips.

Re: break-in procedure

Fastguy. Great to have you on board. Re run-in or break-in procedure, It generally depends on what you want from the bike. True, if you follow FB1000inPA's advice, you'll have a particularly quick bike but it won't last as long a one that gets broken-in slowly. However, breaking-in slowly means the bike won't be 'quite' as quick - but still quick enough and it will last longer.

No, wasn't sarcastic. Did this with all my bikes and never had a problem.

BTW - I am not the guy who gives ill advice to hurt a fellow biker and his machine.
