Red Indicator on, intermittant no start

So my 2000 929 will just cut our while i'm riding, tack drops to nothing and the red indicator light stays lit. This didn't start till after i layed it down, but its strange because the oil if full and It ran ok for a bit after i fixed it (from crashing). Sometimes i'll go to start it and as i hit the starter switch everything goes blank, no power no nothing. Is there a roll over type switch on these bikes perhaps?? whats the red light all about?

Re: Red Indicator on, intermittant no start

ok so i've learned the red indicator is the Fuel Injection MIL, but the problem is the light doesn't flash codes with key on/engine off. Maybe theres a loose connection??? Gonna remove the fuel tank and check the harness, any other suggestions? P.S. i have a power comander unit installed on this bike.

everythings all good now, found a but connector to the power commander loose as all hell. Funny how simple that was but how bad it made things!
