NEED SOME MECHANICAL SUGGESTIONS

Hello all,

I just bought (on ebay) a used 2005 Honda sabre 1100 and have felt what I suspect is a problem in the engine. When I accelerate, I feel (do not hear this -it is as though I have my foot on a metal bar and someone is hitting the other side of it and the impact is transferred to my foot) a tapping but only on the left footpeg. I don't hear anything but this may be because it is lower that then stock pipes on the bike. It seems to happen more on hills or when I am just shifting up as I increase speed. The original owner did not take very good care of the bike and he was heavy (~300lbs) so maybe this had something to do with over straining the bike? I appreciate any suggestions that I can bring to my mechanic. thanks
