| Very New Member Hi Guys, im extremely new to the motorcycle world, and im looking for a bit of advice. My friend is selling his 1986 Honda CBRx Hurricane for $300. It needs a new battery and brake handle. I just bought an 83 Cutlass with a Chevy 350 in it, so im looking to get this bike for better gas mialage, and fun of course. i plan to not really take the bike onto freeways or even out of town, seeing that im a beginner, and i would like not to kill myself. Im very excited to start riding even casually, and ill post pictures when i can. So you guys think this is a decent deal for a 2nd vehicle? if you have any advice i would appreciate it too, thanks. |

| Re: Very New Member Welcome to the site, I can tell you it's going to return much better mileage that a 350 chev powered anything!

| Re: Very New Member At the cost of gas/gl. now days. Thats an investment as a 2nd vehicle. Just make sure its safe or have some one do it for you. Have a ton of fun, and ride safe. Good luck with purchase and ride'n.
Also, Welcome I'm relatively new member as well and I would like to say, this is a great motorcycle community. |

| Re: Very New Member MSF course! Best $$ you will spend after safety gear (helmet, gloves, jacket, boots at a minimum).
In case you are thinking of emulating the half helmet and sandals crowd there is a reason they are called squids. Imagine a squid on pavement.... yep that is them eventually.
Good luck you seem to have a good attitude and should be fine but remember to ride like they are out to kill you so they don't |

I road down to my local motorcycle shop/accessory store and tried on some jackets there. Some brands run slightly bigger or looser then others. Same with helmets.
My store priced matched a internet out of state cost on the same jacket, including free shipping and taxes. I over paid on the helmet a bit, but they have to pay rent some how. Over by not much at all really. I just made it a relaxing get out the house day shopping day with the fellas.
But I heard there some sponsors here with decent prices, too.
This is one link for starters; Marketplace - Honda Motorcycles - FireBlades.org
I'm sure some of the more exp riders here can point you in a really good direction also.
