| Hi I ride a '92 BMW R100RS & I love it. It's a lot of things, but, sometimes best of all, it's forgiving. I don't see me parting with my Beemer anytime soon, but I'm looking for a stable mate for it. I got to thinking about CBRs lately. They're a bit on the complex side, what with the fuel injection and all, but I read so much good about them. What're their downsides? Weaknesses? Stuff likely to break? Handling problems? |

| Re: Hi If you don't want to deal with injection, etc., then get a 900rr, 1999 and earlier. They still move! and the price will be nice. |

| Re: Hi ghbzorro,
Thanks. That's really useful info. I hunted around for my Beemer 'cause it was the last year for the airhead R100RSs. It's air-cooled & I can set the valves in about 20 minutes with a feeler guage and a couple of wrenchs. I like simple &, at 53, I'm willing to sacrifice speed for ease of maintenance. |

| Re: Hi There are not many problems with the 929's or 954's. I haven't experienced much. My only repair, in the 9000 miles that I've had my bike, was to put in new front wheel bearings. |

| Re: Hi The bikes don't have big handling problems. Some people experience head shake due to the power of the bikes making the front end light. I haven't had any headshake on my 929. I even have an extra 10 or so HP from a full exhaust. Some who have ridden all of them say that the bikes just keep getting incrementaly better.
My buddy who rides a 2007 cbr 600rr which is the lightest 600 made and also just sold a 2007 cbr1000rr said that he was very suprised at how quickly my 929 turned. He said that he was expecting to need to have to really put a lot of effort into turning like because it was a liter class bike. He said it turned like a 600. I'll have to ask him if it he meant that it was much easier turning than his 2007 1000rr. I'm assuming that is what he meant. I think the 2006/2007 1000rr is about 20lbs heavier than the 929rr.

| Re: Hi I actually like fuel injected because of the lack of maintance. Adjusting carbs for different elevations and having them not run optimally at different temps is diheartening. |
