Howdy from Texas

Hey guys, just a quick hello from a brand new road rider.

I come from an extensive off-roading background (both ATVs and "dirtbikes") and had never really even considered street riding until I happened to glance over at a new CBR 1K at a stoplight and was just bowled over. I went home that night and started doing research and, two months later, traded in my middleweight 400EX for a shiny new CBR 600.

Extremely happy with it so far and just wanted to say thanks to this forum especially for being so newcomer friendly and free with tips and tricks and do's and dont's. This is an excellent resource and I'm ashamed at myself for having so many preconceived ideas about "crotch-rocket" riders and their attitudes/egos. Judging from so many of you who regularly post here, I was dead wrong.

Thanks again and know that I've found damn near every single post on this board being well worth my time to read and absorb.

Welcome and good luck with your 600. You should love it. This is a great site and I love it and I think it will be a great use to you. I'm from Texas as well, I race alot, but if there's something I can do to help, I will be more than happy to help. I've got a little time on my hands now since the 2 stroke and my ankle got twisted up pretty good last night.
