| Re: Female Motorcycle Riders.. Gals & Guys just looking for you opinons on leather jacket, not that guys know much about style but looking for feedback. I'm looking at getting a leather mc jacket I found online, it has two toned fringe, black & white thought it looked stylish. My question do you think such a jacket is more style than function? and is it acceptable to wear such jacket?
Does it look like you're trying to hard to fit image of mc rider?
Just want to see what other riders think. |

Just want to see what other riders think. | Style is a personal choice Gypsy. No use getting one you don't think you look good in. As for the safety and funstion side I've crashed tested my share over the years worst luck, leather and material. The leather stood up to every thing so much better. Shoulder, elbo and back armour is a must if you want as much protection as possible but can sometimes be a tad uncomfortable as well. Hope this helps.

Just want to see what other riders think. | Well in my opinion, the jacket has to do several things. Forget about style for a moment... What do you need the jacket for?
Well for one, to protect you... Does it have shoulder, fore arms, elbows and upper/lower back protection? Is it hard plastic or soft foam? What do you prefer and feel safe with?
Secondly, you need it to be comfortable... No point getting one that will restrict your movement (more than it should), and that it should be breathable and not have dodgy zips...
Nearly finished... It needs to be suited to what you want it for... if you ride around with a tank bag/rucksack or with your luggage under your seat, you probably dont need pockets on your jacket... Well unless you want them... If there are, are they right sizes? How does it feel when you have your cell/mobile phone or similar in them?
Finally, you can now look into the style, colour and what ever else you "ladies" look for .... You will probably skip 1 and 3 but I have said what I look for...

| Re: Female Motorcycle Riders.. Being a 'bird' I mentally process a potential purchase of new bike kit in this order..
Do I like the style, materials used, colour etc., and will it look good on me .. I dont care what safety features it has if its gonna make me look like michelin man or a power ranger there's not a cat in hells chance I'm gonna buy it.. I personally prefer black motorcycle jackets, I know theres the 'make yourself more visible' argument but I really dont do coloured stuff.. even my crash helmet and leather trousers are plain black.. its personal preference at the end of the day..
Like Twin said does it have armour/protection and the features you are looking for.. Until I bought my Hein Gericke jacket recently I had never had one with armour and it took a little getting used to.. Is it from a reputable manufacturer and of good quality as you dont want to buy tatt thats gonna fall apart easily
Are the pockets in the right place and are there enough pockets.. I dont use any kind of bag at all so my bits and bobs have to go either in my pockets or under my seat.. Since purchasing my HG jacket I have only found what I consider to be one fault.. I have no comfortable place to put my IPod.. there are the two outside lower pockets, one on each side in the jackets lining and a pocket on the front near the front zip.. its not comfortable in either the two big inner pockets or the one by the main zip for one very good reason... I have boobs and it digs in!!!! so it has to go in the lower pocket, dig in a little less and I have a lumpy hip
Comfort is important but if you are buying online you cant try it on unless there is a shop near you stocking the item.. I bought mine off ebay and didnt know until I got it whether it would be comfortable or not.. luckily it was If it hadnt been I would have either put up with it or resold it on ebay..
And paramount to ALL of the above.. can I afford it!!! with the present financial situation I have to consider that before I purchase anything these days.. I was very lucky, my brand new £200 jacket cost me £53 plus p&p.. because it had been the showroom display jacket..
If the purchase meets all of the above criteria I will buy it.. if it not I look for something else... |

Would be nice to try on their suits, find out what fits best then attack the internet for shop floor items (Dont think they will mind do you?)

Originally Posted by StrumminRonin Though some were not born female?? | There is truth in what you say, Strummin. However, despite all you may have heard it isn't that difficult to spot which ones don't have natural estrogen rushes. I shall explain for those who may be unclear. All the following can be ascertained within 10 feet of the individual:
1. Height - Generally speaking it is extremely rare for Thai/ Chinese/ Malaysian /Japanese or Indonesian women to be tall. If they're tall they may still be a woman but be on guard.
2. Adam's apple - Although don't be surprised if he doesn't have one. Surgeons have apparently developed a method of shaving this down.
3. (And this is the clearest and most obvious) Mannerisms - Men just can't do feminine movements. They always go overboard. So, if you're sitting in a bar and you spot what you assume is a beautiful woman, just watch what they do for a few moments. Do they flick the hair every two to five seconds? Smoke a cigarette as if it's their sole reason of being? Do they wave the hands around in an exaggerated manner? If so, you've found a man.
Under ten feet
Once in a while they've managed to get their hands on A LOT of money. This is then taken straight to the surgeon who will really go to town on them. These lady boys will be stunning even close up. However:
1. Does she have bigger hands than you?
2. Does she have bigger feet than you?
3. Does that perfume smell odd and does she smell like she's (he's) wearing the whole bottle?
4. Does she sound like she's talking an octave or six higher or lower than a woman does? (It's not hard to tell)
5. Does (close up) she look like she uses a cement mixer to prepare all that foundation?
I've heard some real bullsh1t stories from some guys like, "Oh, I had no idea until I got them back home!" or "I was drunk and didn't realise!" or "But she's got tits!" Unless those guys were so paralytic they would have gone home with anything that could carry them, I don't buy it!

While I agree that there are those of us that are MENtal, some of us only have mild MENtal issues.
Hmmm noticing a theme here??? MENtal |
