New to sport bikes

hello, I just got a 2008 CBR 1000 RR.
I have always ridden cruisers, so any sportbike advice, tips, etc would be helpfull.

If you haven't taken a MSF class yet, do so now.

If you haven't taken a trackday class, do so now.

If you don't have full gear head to toe, buy it now.

Gear is the first thing... As someone put it: Its better to sweat than bleed!
Second is understanding that your new bike turns and runs faster. Be careful and just take it easy. I learned a lot of tricks by reading books and then practicing on an empty parking lot by my house. My
