| Hi from wintry NY Hi, i'm new to the fireblades and proud new owner of a 2007 919. I recently returned from Iraq, where i spent too much time dreaming of bikes. I currently own a Shadow spirit and am bored with the V twin, so after researching for hrs, i found the 919 that reminds me of the Nighthawk i owned in the 90s. I just purchased a 919 this week, and have already ordered Yoshi TRS slip ons, the bike is way too quiet and i love the sound of a screaming in line 4. Now i'm researching a flyscreen, i'm used to a windshield, i guess i'm getting old. I do not own a manual for this bike, i can't seem to find a reserve valve, i know theres a light, but is that it!?? Any info will help!! I finally found this forum, took me days...... |

| Re: Hi from wintry NY Dennis, you'll find a lot of info on here - use the search function - but if you can't find what you want just ask!
I would imagine that your bike doesn't have a reserve fuel tap, if that's what you are referring to - some years ago the trend for fuel lights started, once it comes on you are on reserve, so to speak.
Unfortunately neither of my bikes are modern enough for such new-fangled gizmo's! |

| Re: Hi from wintry NY Hey Dennis,
First off - THANKS FOR SERVING AND KEEPING US IN YOUR GUARD!!
Second - I've got an '01 929 and believe Destructo is correct; the reserve is the light that comes on in the tach.
I'll check the shop manual and verify - I've searched for a "reserve" and have not been able to locate one on the 929 either. |

| Re: Hi from wintry NY Thanks guys, appreciate the info and the kudos for serving, its an honor-really. I guess when i see the light turn on, i better head for the gas station!! I love this 919, rode today in the 40 degree weather, well worth the freezing hands and legs. Yoshi pipes will be in next week, i'll rack up some more freezing miles. I do like the looks of the F18 shield, i'm considering one for next season. |
