| Ninja 650? (Pics added) What is your take on this ride for a track toy?
Looks like it needs something done to the rearsets, maybe hacksaw. The riding position looks pretty upright too. Ho will it compare to the SV in power? Parrallel vs V
Gimme your thoughts

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) THe exhaust sure is phallic. I'm thinking more "beginner bike" than "track toy". Parallel twins were never a good idea. Then again, neither were inline 4s. |

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) Kinda funny. I was reading an article on it today and thought the same thing.
They said it was a replacement for the 500EX (EX500?) and therefore a beginner's bike. I'm not sure I'd spend the cash on it for use as a track weapon (I'd probably go for something else used first) but it looks cool for someone starting out. |

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) The track I ride at will have a spec class series for these new bikes. Here's an answer to the exhasut by the way. http://www.arata-ex.com/html/Whatsnew/er-6.html |

if I was just strictly looking for a bike to put around town on that would be one of the choices. Other than that I think its pretty much just gonna be a really good starter bike. And its about time they got rid of (or even if they would change) the EX500.

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) Initial reports are the horsepower numbers are in the low 70's just like the SV650. However a parallel twin is probably more limited in terms of race development than a v-twin. I don't think it will ever be competitive with the SV650, unless it has the possibility of some serious suspension upgrades like the SV does. Plus with all the development already done on the SV for racing, it will be a while before this bike could make a name for itself in or track riding. |

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) Why didn't Honda bring back the Hawk when the SV became so popular? It would be nice to have a real alternative racing wise to an SV. Ooops, sorry, getting off topic.
Looks like a great starter/commuter bike, and that is about it. |

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) They should update the VTR (in the NAS mould of course) and offer a 650 (750 maybe) and 1000cc version to counter the SV series. That would be awesome. |

Those guys are serious engine builders. And there are good reasons to stay with a parallel twin over a V. Is it just half the new ZX-14 motor?
It's just engineering man, as you well know there's give and take in all designs.
Diggin' the Arata GP look. I hope that's what they do for the R6. |

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) Hey guys,
I am getting my first bike and was thinking about the 650. People told me to get one with mid range sized engine, so I figured the ninja 650 ain't a bad deal for a beginner like me? Plus it looks really sexy :S Any suggestions? |

| Re: Ninja 650? (Pics added) ISIS and I went and looked at the 650R tonight and we both think it looks better in pictures than in person. To me the front of it looks like a scooter...very plain looking. From the side it looks pretty nice, but not as nice as the SV. Overall the SV just is a better looking bike in the S model. YMMV |
