| Re: ZX 10 transformation Working on a zx10 and got the bodywork from Godfather (Bad Mistake) Scott will not answer calls so we have no where else to ask so here is the problem. The tail section has no undertail that came with the bodywork and GF does not offer one, and the stock tail is no where near to fitting the aftermarket junk. For those of you that have done bodywork, how did you make an undertail section work.
Here is the aftermarket bodywork on the bike by itself. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...4/Dscn1488.jpg
Here it is in relation to the stock tail. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...4/Dscn1489.jpg |

| Re: ZX 10 transformation Why do you want an undertail? Mine's all open, I even ripped the stock undertail out. Only thing back there is my exhaust and battery tray. |

| Re: ZX 10 transformation How come you're doing the work on Kawboy's bike? He's too dumb to do it himself..... tell is slow ass that race plastics wont make him any faster, and put some weight in that tail section so that the back wheel stays on the ground. |

| Re: ZX 10 transformation It needs something to bolt to, the only other bolts that it has is in the rear of the seat (2 bolts) one on each side. If we do not have an undertail or some other support it will flop in the wind. |

If it seems really loose, drill a couple pilot holes and put a couple zip ties on each side. |

| Re: ZX 10 transformation We ended up sliding the race fairing tail over the stock one so it is more ridgid.
Have I mentioned Godfather race fairings are a POS. |

| Re: ZX 10 transformation You do realize you're gonna scratch the heck out of the stock tail and if he crashes, he's gonna have two wrecked tail cowls instead of one?
What's wrong with the bodywork? Just curious. Is it out of the batch that was still made in Mexico or is this the new stuff out of FL? |

What's wrong with the bodywork? Just curious. Is it out of the batch that was still made in Mexico or is this the new stuff out of FL? | The stock tail was damaged already, his son dropped it in the garage after Grattan last year. He has a new tail section for it so no biggie.
The Godfather bodywork is the "New" stuff. He & I understand it is cheap bodywork ($450) so we were expecting some blemishes but this **** makes Hotbodies look like Sharkskins in comparison. The upper and lower has bubbles inbetween the gelcoat and the glass so you have to tap all the edges to see where these spots are and fix them before paint is applied. It is brittle like potato chips. The upper by the windscreen is cracked and you can definately see where he tried to repair it and did a shitty job at that. Down by the controls on the upper it is cracked in both spots to the point that the little lip is broken all the way, that will have to be reinforced to be usable and hold up. The upper and lower where they match, or supposed to is a joke to put it lightly. Tha tail was the best part and it needed alot of work but had no way of supporting itself other than 2 bolts way up underneath the seat so the tail was free to flop around up and down about 2 inches each way, that is why we had to incorporate the stock tail into the equasion. Kayboy called Scott with Godfather and told him about the upper and he did send another one but it was for a 600 and not a 10. Kawbot has tried to call him back since last wednesday and has not gotten a responce yet, we even tried today from 3 different phone #'s and all we got was voice mail and no call back. His customer service sucks and Scott should have his ass whipped for screwing people like this. I will write up a review of this ordeal and post it on every BB I can find that anybody would possibly be looking for plastics.
It will turn out good in the long run but will just take alot of time to undo his screwups. |

| Re: ZX 10 transformation Wow...that sucks man. The new stuff is supposed to be all better and improved. For what I paid, I'm pretty happy with mine. It crashed well. I don't think it would make it through another, but I'm ok with that 'cuz I don't plan on crashing for a while. |

| Re: ZX 10 transformation Through the ordeal I had with him, he was pretty responsive. Sometimes it took him a little while, but most times he responded in a polite and professional manner and within 24 hours. Try email too, if for no other reason than to say that you've tried every angle to get in contact with him. He just recently started up the production in FL so I'm sure he's swamped. Plus, today is Sunday, he probably isn't taking business calls. |
