Oil in girlfriends ninja 500

My girlfriends Ninja 500 just rolled over 1000 miles and people are telling me to change the oil and filter. I was just going to put some 20-50 in it but now that I think of it the little twin is quite different than the inline fours I am used to dealing with. Any input would greatly appreciated. thanx

(Depending on your climate) the same oil you use in your other bikes should be ok.

I run Motul 5600 10W40 in all my bikes, but in summer sometimes 20W50.

Hey thanks. That is what I was thinking too. It is getting into the hundreds here so I think I'll go with 20w50 this time.

It calls for 10w40 which seems a little thin for the very hot weather we are experiencing here.
