Re: Now I am stuck HELP again!!

You might not need a new tank.

Use the Search function on here, and try keywords "tank rust shake". You'll find some interesting posts. I particularly liked one from JetPilot07 which said

"woaw.....if you had major rust in the tank, you should go to a pet store or wal-mart and get a bag of aquarium pebbles, take the tank back apart, put 1 cup of high octane gasoline in it, 1 cup of pebbles, seal it up and shake it around in every direction for about 15 minutes, then empty and repeat with new pebbles and gas till you don't get any rust out anymore."

But there were other good suggestions, too.

Find a local radiator shop to steam it for you, probably only cost you 40 bucks

i had recently picked up a 1969 Triumph Boneville 250, which had sat for 5 years with gas in the tank... Buy the time i had got to it the gas was a gooey mess added with years of rust and just sitting.. You can try the fish tank pebble thing if you want but i shoped and found a cool radiator guy to steam and blast the inside of the tank out and then coat it with a resign. all for 40 bucks and his efforts... Tank is perfect and caused no damage to the paint
