California is twinkie land I keep saying it and no one listens. Yes I know how grossly overinflated California's real estate market is.

Of course most people think of us as un educated country bumpkins.
At the 350K price point you could get into a very nice home in a really nice neighborhood.

Wages here aren't as high as other parts of the country but cost of living is signifigantly lower. What's the Gas price in SoCal today? I just filled up for 1.45 a gallon. Our taxes are lower as well.

As for what we do I am a systems admin on IBM midrange systems for a public school district and my wife is a MT specializing in microbiology an head of fellowship education at one of the 10 largest diagnostic labs in the US, she should be managing their new facility in late 2009 or early 2010 when construction completes.

You're probably right about that. Never being to Oklahoma myself, I'll give you the ignorant view of Ok.
Flat farmland with very straight roads. Good grounded people who value family and friends. But a bit reclusive.

Actually here in the NE part iof the state we have some decent riding and then you get over into NW Arkansas and SW Missouri and there are 1000's of miles of fantastic road with low traffic volume and very few people around.

I kinda stumbled onto that bit of info a few months back. That's what got me serious about looking at the residency.
