Nice looking bike, although I still like the looks/lines of a blade much more. *In your link, in the pic on left, I don't like the rear of the bike. *In pic on right, well, the 'cyclops' *look just doesn't get it. *That said, I realize it all boils down to personal taste * *

Edit: And, it will be wayyyy too much money.

I wish the pics would be bigger, but from what I can tell it looks sweet! Doesn't seem that much different from the f4, which isn't necessarily a bad thing

The magazines are saying the factory is claiming 180HP (I am assuming at the crank). If that is true, then it would be on part with the Busa and ZX12 in the HP wars (180 at the crank *should* translate to roughly 155-160HP at the rear wheel).

Looks good to me too! If it has the same style and features of the f4 with a 998cc motor, It'll do for me.

I really doubt it will have 160 RWHP - maybe at the crank, but I doubt it will at the wheel - unless the Ferrari F1 mechanics and engineers are making the engines (the 'F' in F4 does stand for Ferrari, after all)

MV have also said all along the chassis was built to take a bigger engine and more power...

I like it though, I think it's possible the sexiest bike on the market, but each to his own. I am tempted to buy an F4 1+1(evo III) as my next bike, will see how the Honda factory performs I guess.

I really like what Claudio Castiglioni, owner of MV, said in a recent interview about the MV F4 and F5: (pay particular attention to the bold print)

'As far as aesthetics are concerned, the styling will remain essentially unchanged, because we believe this is a timeless work of art which will be as desirable ten years from now as it was the day it was launched - just like the previous model Tamburini created together with us, the Ducati 916. When you create a beautiful bike like either of these, you have to understand that you need to develop it, to evolve it - not to throw it away and try to do something better, because you won't. Look at Porsche - what a wonderful example. After years of manufacturing the legendary 911, one fine day they came up with the 928, which they explicitly intended should replace the 911, simply on the grounds that it was 'different' and 'modern'. Well, eventually they realised that what they had to do was drop the 928, throw it in the trash can and pull out the 911 again, then develop it, evolve it, into the best-selling form it's in today more than 30 years after its birth. We have no intention of making a similar mistake - as Ducati have indeed done by creating the 999 with a car silencer stuck in the seat, instead of evolving the 916 which is a landmark design in motorcycle history. They're crazy - even if we're the ones that will benefit, so I suppose I should thank them! But look why they've done it: the 999 has been built the way it is primarily with the intention of saving costs - but for this kind of motorcycle, which represents the dream of so many enthusiasts like myself to own, whether you save 300 Euros here or 20 Euros there absolutely should not come into it. We're producing dynamically excellent two-wheeled works of art at a price which customers can afford to buy in significant numbers, and which allows us a good enough profit to stay in business and keep developing them. So, that's why the F4 Mille will have the same unique, exquisite styling as the F4, but with subtle changes representing an 'evoluzione' of the existing model. Do you understand me?'

That's exactly why there isn't an '03 in my shop... looks MUCH better in person but still... still....... now if I could get in this bodywork...

The F5 looks pretty cool. I'm not a big fan of the cyclops look either though. I've only seen one F4 in the wild.. very trick looking kit!

The MV was designed by Tamburini, who did the 916 design. He's a big believer in evolution of a revolutionary design. I think the strategy is proving itself in many ways.

The MV with the 1000CC motor is kicking ass in the performance category. In some tests, it is lapping quicker than all Japanese bikes tested on the racetrack. It has also proven quick in the hands of second tier World Superstock teams.

It creates a brand identity, when you see an MV, you have no doubt.

As Ducati learned with the 999, if you ruin a pretty design, you won't be forgiven easily.

And of course, MV is a small company, and it is a cheaper strategy...
