| My day of looking So yesterday i went to look at motorcycles. damn what can i say they are probably the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. But what i learned when i went out is that the gsxr is a bad ass bike but they are so uncomfortable. you have 2 lean over so much on them. i also sat on the ninja 250 and 500 they were so comfortable. then i was surprised that the Cbr F4i were pretty nice also they were awesome. and they felt very good. Also i sat on a Kawi 600R that was amazing i might say but it was still a little 2 tight on my legs so it wasnt very comfortable. Then i really wanted to sit on a Ninja 650R but i couldnt find i shop that had one. IM SO EXCITED FOR THE SUMMER WHEN I CAN GET MY 1ST BIKE =] =] =] =] =]. |

| Re: My day of looking Hi and a big fae Scotland young man. I read your intro and have to agree with the most popular consensus, start yourself off with a lower powered bike that has the ergonomics which suit you, this is a must for your maiden voyage as it will deliver all the necessary skills that you will need to master the real world riding in front of you. Going too big can also put you off the whole riding experience as you will think you are never going to master it, whereas if you start with a more compatiable machine you will soon learn to get the max out of it and pick up invaluable experience in the way your machine operates. you will know when the time comes to trade up, that is the natural progression route of gaining life preservation skills, and please take into account what others are advising you. after all, they're all still here. To put bikes into perspective, i started at your age on a then rocket ship, a yamaha rd250. This gave me all the experience i needed to feel that i was competent enough to step up the ladder. Now, years later i ride a cbr 1000rr and i can assure you, there is way more power in that bike than i will ever use (although its brill), and i aint a slow rider. Lastly, no matter what you choose always treat it with respect. Enjoy and take care initially.
cheers,
ron |

| Re: My day of looking hi BigBassTurd (some handle), agree with you on the 250 idea. back when i was that age we were allowed 250s on the road as learners, i had yamaha rd250b and rd250lc, to me they were awesome for someone of my age, they had good turn of speed and when you hit the two stroke sweet spot in the powerband you thought you were the quickest thing on the road. however, it taught me the basic principals of motorcycling and increased my thirst for more power. the new ninja 250 will probably be an even better bike due to evolution of components e.t.c. and i think it would be an ideal choice for the young yin.

| Re: My day of looking i say go with the new 250 ninja. on a teenagers budget it will bring the most benefits. gas mileage, insurance is cheap, ergos are great so you will ride more. i have sit on the new ninja 250 its easy to be flatfooted and sits relatively upright. one of my friends who races just started using his wifes 250 at the track for giggles and now its always with him at the track since she upgraded to a f3 |

| Re: My day of looking my first bike was a ducati monster 800 ie dark...
very comfortable and wasn't too much to handle.
Have you ever sat on any of the ducati line? Tend to be a bit more expensive but I'd keep them in mind when your looking at bikes. |

Try a zzr - they are the f4i of kawi... how tall r u, weight, etc? Ninja 250 and 500's are much more upright.
The 636 (Ninja zxr6) will be more of a race seating, like the gixxer... figure out what seating position you like first (racing versus upright) and start shopping from there. |

SOOOOOOoo easy to turn, not nearly as much power as some of the 600s nowadays. I think his was 85 hp and my f4i was 110 or something back in the day
If you did a monster 600 you'd probably have a good bike to learn throttle control plus really learn handling... but they are pricey |
