| Re: Passed Module 1 Just a thought - I assume that both of you (stevie & jbond) are taking your DAS tests and then going straight out on your Blades?
Are either of you considering doing any advanced training? (e.g. IAM or ROSPA?) I started doing IAM training about a month ago, even though I considered myself a 'reasonable' rider after 5-6 years.... so far I have only had 1 'observed ride' and it seems I've got quite a lot to work on!
So far I reckon it's worth doing (even if they are a bunch of old women at times....) - even if you've had previous riding experience. |

| Re: Passed Module 1 Point taken and yes doing DAS, and well prolly do more training, just to take into consideration i have been around bikes for a long time, i started when i was like 12. For 5 years i did off road then on road until i was knocked off my bike. "another story" which has been a pain in my back since.
My instructor said i am over cautious which i guess is bad and good, i have had loads of bike over the years on and off the road so jumping onto a 21 yr old bike i will continue to be cautious , but even instructor said i will be ok, and trust me that hurt him to say it......
Im not planing on setting any land speed records for quite some time, like never.
I love the ride, country roads even at low speeds.
Just love the bike and feeling..
Cheers |

| Re: Passed Module 1 I passed my test in june, I've already done 2 trackdays at knockhill. I've been putting in a lot of hours learning the bike and am still learning and will be for years to come. I've learned to respect my bike and I know what it can do and what I can do. I'm looking into a track school week for the spring. |

| Re: Passed Module 1 Fair play mate, I have loads to learn about the bike "respect"
Why people look at new rider on blades as a issue i can understand, but after doing the DAS course the slow maneuvers are taught which was never done before and any bike you jump onto is going to be fast!
Pass your test on small bike wait 2 years then jump onto a beast !
Respect the bike, get extra training if you want and enjoy the bike, we are not all looking to break the speed limit.
I was going to look at a gsx600r but was put off by a friend who advise to get a blade, i wanted something to grow and expand into at my pace.
Any fool can grab a handfull and do over the limit, if they can control the bike is a different issue.
I'm 38 and looking forward to another 40+ years, looking forward to THE blade as its been tearing me apart for 2 months sitting in the garden.
Stevie you got same baby as me, fair play. I wasn't saying that at the weekend when the ducker wouldnt start.
Wednesday here i come..
Cheers all |

| Re: Passed Module 1 I did it, i did it...........
2 minors received within the first 5 mins then all kool.
The examiner said it had been a pleasure to go out with me!
I must have paid him enough!
Got home book bike for it MOT, which it passed and took the wife out for a 20 mile trip out !
Which she loved and felt happy being pillion !
MOT pulled up slight extra play in chain, and the need for tires which i was aware about both .
What a day ! |
