Im ready now to get one and i fell in love with the 07 CBR 600rr. A few poeple say i should start with an older 600 until i feel confidant. Any suggestions on a good bike for a big guy? |

think of a CBR1100XX Black Bird, would be perfect for your size....or a CBR1000

| Re: Im Big and new to riding. Help! If its your first bike, it would probably be a mistake to go much over a 600. If I were you I would go for a semi-sports bike, such as a Suzuki SV 650 or an old Honda NT 650 Hawk GT. Sufficient power and not too extreme a riding position.
Learn to ride safely, and then trade up to a big rocket when you feel you want to. |

| Re: Im Big and new to riding. Help! im 6'4" but i only weigh 15 stone, so you have another 8 stone on me, so i would say the 600 is probably a bit too small for someone of your size... maybe a blackbird like jet says, theyre physically big, but they still ride good, my dad has an 08 one and it pulls like a train

Do the bike course and use self control. |

| Re: Im Big and new to riding. Help! 6'3" and 325 im sure your a big boy, im sure you could lose some weight and still be a beast on the field. i would say drop 40-50lbs you may even be stronger. i dont know what kind of shape your it but its safe to say your a bit chubby. one thing about sporty bikes is they are not so great if your big and bulky. if you could get down to 275 give or take it would definately broaden you choices a bit. i myself just dropping from 5'5" 180-190ish a bit chunky to a lean 155-160 it helps. if you plan on really enjoying sportbikes downsize a hair, michael strahan made quite a lucrative career pounding his way through offensive lines at around what 220lbs his last seasons with the giants. mid to high 200s would help you pick up some speed on the field even if you dont need it. i know its football but in my eyes speed and technique can sometimes have an advantage over brute force.
not to mention at 200+lbs most factory suspensions will be useless to you so plan for a shock and forksprings with anything you get. |

| Re: Im Big and new to riding. Help! when your that huge and these bikes are designed primarily around average size people. it kinda ruins the experience for the big guy a bit. no ones poking fun. at 6'3" average weight is probably 215-230 considering hes a full 100lbs higher even a busa stock suspension would be cooked in no time. when i had a gut it always made the tank a bit uncomfortable as i tend to sit up close when cornering. to the OP just remember to set up your bike before you take off. a older 750 may be a good bike zx7r roomy and stable. just try stuff out but if your new dont worry any supersport will pull your weight pretty easy |

Just tell him to get a tall 125 or 500 so he can learn how to handle a bike for starters
Fgs he is going to need a very powerful engine to haul that fat around, being a tall guy he is going to need a bike that is not cramped, the combination of both will make the virginal experience terrible for him.
As has been said before a lot of bikers on here over the 6' height, normal weight and slightly above but in this scenario the whole picture has to be addressed.
On a side note if the guy reads the posts and realises that the info has been proffered in in a good manner and with well being a priority then another goal has been achieved.
"Ok ok dear yes the bra this time, come on, mmmm that whiskey is tasting better and omg dear your are so pretty, hic"
