Don't get me wrong...I love my Arais....they fit my head well. Just not in love with their marketing...even though I think I understand why they do it....

I would love to have a hybrid helmet...Arai fit with Shoei vents and shield system. Arai's AdSys sucks bongwater imho....

Maybe you need to try an AGV. They are lightweight, quiet, vent well and pretty comfortable once they are broken in.

I have wanted to try one really bad...but unfortunately I live in the middle of freaking nowhere, and have been unable to try one on. A few months ago, I scoured hard for one, and could find one close to test fit...

I have only own a arai. I thought the quick release system was pretty slick. I have not seen other manufactures though.

Suomy. incredibly light and vents really well. I don't know if its just the helmet or my glasses with the helmet but I get a lot of air flowing up from the bottom and into my eyes. It can get a little annoying at times so I think I might try something else next time possibly an AGV or Arai.

Shoei RF-1000 right now. I love the venting and the fit, and the shield system. little noisy but once I get off my butt and buy the chatterbox I have been planning on the noise shouldn't be an issue anymore if the inserts fit and get rid of noise like the company says they do.

All depends on how I feel I guess on a given day. Over all I give the nod to my Arai's more then my Shoei's or my Suomy's. Since I own two of each brand it truely is a tough choice. I think Shoei has by far the best designed shield release system on the market. The Adsys system works. I regularly change the shield on my Corsair without taking the helmet off my head. The Suomy system is by far the worst I have ever used. It's one of the two things I do not like about my Suomy's, the other is not being able to change the cheek pads. Another reason to lean towards the Arai's. I find the head area of the Suomy's fit well but the cheek pads are just too thick and too stiff. I do not like how the shield on Shoei's ratchet closed, I prefer the smooth action of the Arai and Suomy's. I have an older AGV that I no longer wear, but would like to try the new Ti-tech lids.

I've got 2 RF-800 and Arai RX7-RR4. The quick change system on the Arai SUCKS IMHO. Broke two plates (one on each side) already.

arai seems to be only helmet that fits my weird shaped head very typical arai head ive tried to wear shoei lids before but hot spots across my forehead i just wish that arai wasn't so expensive here in canada damn 1199.99 for a rx7rr4 thats crazt but like i always say "How much is your head worth?" Mines worth alot to me.
