| Re: Which generation Fireblade do you currently have? I got my 929 as a project bike. It was wrecked, but it is very close to being ready to put back together. Everything is coming out well. The parts are in the body shop. All i have left is to replace the wiring harness because the owner before me tried to install an integrator and it is all chopped up. Plus it never worked right, either only one light would work as brake, one would work as running light or neither would work. It is messed up and i tried but couldn't figure out how to fix it so i am replacing it all. Any advice? |

| Re: Which generation Fireblade do you currently have? Have not owned them all but have ridden them all... I love my 1000RR the best of them and most likely will buy a new one in 08.. Next would be the 954, such a fun bike(here comes the squidly comment) it is such a wheelie monster... I like the fact that with the 04-05 1000rr you can use more of it's power for acceleration without quite as much fighting to keep the front wheel down.. I have been told that they did shorten the swingarm on the 06 so it doesn't stay down as well...
Am very interested to see how she will look in 08 when I will most likely have about 30k miles on my 05 and will be ready to buy a new one for the street and most likely convert the 05 for drag racing only...

| Re: Which generation Fireblade do you currently have? I have both the 929 & 954, but like the 929 as it does not come close to burning the underside of my right leg. Yet like the handlebar position plus the slight raise in the visor at the front. Other things to, but just a few that come to mind & it is nice to own/ride both. Though insurance on both is costly, plus a '97 Yamaha YZF600r & a cage as well with full coverage on the latter. Very, very costly.

| Re: Which generation Fireblade do you currently have? I don't think you have to take the sides off, but I know this much if you do it makes it alot cleaner with less of a chance of getting the oil all over your fairings, |

| Re: Which generation Fireblade do you currently have? no yoou dont have to take the side fairings off to do an oil change but if u have them off already it does make it easier for access to the filter...i did my 2 oil changes without removing the side fairings. but as mentioned by Atreyu, it can get messy if u dont.
good luck... |

| Re: Which generation Fireblade do you currently have? '05 1000 RR for me, traded a 600 Gixxer for it. Never rode the earlier models but heard nothing but good about them. As for the oil and taking the bike apart, how often do you change it?
For me, a few allen bolts is not an issue, still only takes a few minutes. |

Z... | thats valid, I was able to do it w/ fairings on but fasteners off. It was my first time (on the 954) and a huge pain at that. |

| Re: Which generation Fireblade do you currently have? I'm shopping for my first fireblade. Can you folks help me out and tell me which is your favorite model and perhaps why? (without hijacking thread of course) I'm leaning towards a 929 presently. |
