I get up this morning to go to work, everything is honkey dorey. When I'm done with breakfest I hear my son (22 months) calling for me, so I go upstairs and my mother in law who is visiting wants to cut me off at the pass.
I tell her to not worry, I'll grab Joe cause I won't see him much today. I'm holding him and talking to him, change the diaper, all that good stuff. I need to leave so I bring him into my room, give him to my wife and say I'll be right back.
I go into the office, grab my keys, and head back to my room to kiss the wife and wish her a happy anniversary. I walk back into the room and who is in my bed, on my side!!!!!!

Between that and taking my place at the dinner table last night for dinner, ,I'm going to kill her so to all of you who like your outlaws I say

That's too weird. Talk to your wife about it and have her lay down the rules to her mother. A bed is very personal space. Sounds like the Monster In-Law is trying to get between you and your wife. It's your house so she has to abide by your rules....now it's your turn to lay down the law.

I don't know how you didn't ask her WTF she was doing in your bed but I applaud you for being able to not say anything. I would have been too.

HG - I've had to tell her to mind her business when I'm disciplining my son. I tell her to ignore the tantrums, she doesn't. She has never really liked me because I'm the reason her little girl moved from Philly to CA. Problem is that she is young and raised my wife as her friend not a daughter, so they have this weird little relationship, and when they are together, I am shutout.
And yes, she was under the covers. I now have to burn the sheets and possible get a new mattress.......... The pillow is a total loss

Yeah, have a chat with your wife. That's weird. You and your wife should put each other first, that's what marriage is all about. If you're being shut out when the mil is there, it sounds like your wife isn't putting you first. If she doesn't see her Mom often and they want to spend time together catching up by doing stuff together without you like shopping, lunch, etc., that's cool. But her being in your bed is not. That would bug me, too.
