HD | I'm getting one built for me as i write this. Check out Fulton-Armory.com they do it right. All USGI parts. An m14 with all the bells and whistles can take you into the three thousand dollar range and Full Auto forget about it.
I posted the one I'm getting in the Kerry wants to take your guns thread i believe. |

Damn, my track addiction is starting to affect my other interests. I need to buy some race bodywork for the Gixxer. I'd like some rearsets and a Digi also. Not to mention, I'd like a small revolver now this.
AND, I need to pay for some flooring that I'm putting down in my house and the couch that we are buying.
sigh.....
I need a lotto ticket.....

But don't waste your time building it up. Just start with a Springfield if you care about shooting real straight. |

But even with it's faults, I wouldn't call the Mini a POS, that's a misnomer. It's like an EX500....specific purpose and price range. And just like the EX, it helps you learn where you want to go with your collection... |

HD | The Ruger is an "everyman's" m14. It was designed as a cheap rifle, and shoots as designed. The VAST majority of shooters wouldn't notice the difference anyway.
I've plinked away with them and think they're fun just like Bake. But I don't have any real desire to buy one. I want an SKS or two to plink with....they shoot the cheapest ammo outside a .22lr. |

I've got an SKS and can't hit **** w/ it. So I just have it for historical value. My martial arts instructor has one as well, but he killed the dude that tried to shoot him w/ it. It just sits on the wall.

A relative statement, but I guess a valid POV if you are trying to portray yourself as an serious enthusiast...me, I'm just a plinker...
Lots of motorcycles don't go exactly where they are pointed either, but they still can be fun to ride, and I wouldn't call them POS's....

To each his own... | eh, I'm "portraying" the rifle. The .223 is a potential 800yd round. I can consistently hit paper plates @100yds using cheap ammo and a 4x scope on a Colt AR15. With remington ammo and a 3x9 Leopold on the mini14, I was walking up 4x8 plywood sheets after 2 or three rounds. That just disgusts me |
