| Re: Idiots Typical actually. The exception I know of was a lady in FL that hit it a big one. She did not really need the $$$ already being successful. From what I heard she gave an amount equivalent to the winnings away over the rest of her life and passed away with the principal still intact.

I'm not the former and, thankfully, not the latter yet. |

| Re: Idiot Lottery Winners When I almost took a job with American Express they were telling us a story about a guy who blew it. Managed the $ poorly and then just had to start at zero again. It was a newly wed couple...sad story.
I would like to win the lotto though! I buy a ticket sometimes, but not all the time. In college we discussed how the lottery can be summed up as a voluntary poor tax.

| Re: Idiot Lottery Winners I sold a $10,000 winning scratch ticket once, but I was on the wrong side of the counter. Luckily my dad knew the guy who won though |

| Re: Idiot Lottery Winners The stories of them losing it all are so pathetic. I hate to say it, but there's usually a reason people are in the financial situation they are in before winning, and those tendencies don't change when they suddenly have several million dollar$. And though it sounds like a lot, a few million bucks really isn't that much, and wouldn't take long to blow.
I buy a quick pick ticket probably twice a month. It's the ultimate fantasy. For my $1 ticket I can't tell you how many times I've had the dreams I hit it. Then I wake up.
Totally worth the buck!

If you can't manage the small amount of money you have, how can you manage a large amount? |
