Looking for tips on how to heal broken bones quickly

I went to a Manditory Team Building meeting last Wednesday off site at City Beach (indoor volleyball, basketball, ping pong, pool tables and such). Landed wrong, dislocated and then snapped back into place was my ankle. But in the process, I broke my outside meditarcel (Bone from pinky toe to ankle).
So I go to the Workman's comp health care. They put a removable cast on me, gave me some Motrin and Viccadins, and put me back to work. Zero days off. The crutches are getting painful, my foot is an abortion of what it once looked like, I got bruises going up to my knee, and all I can think about is that I can't put any pressure on it for six weeks. Then the fun starts as I try to strengthen the leg and work out the sprain. SO...
Besides calcium, what else can I do to promote quicker bone healing? Beuler? Anyone?
Thanks!

Staying off of it. The more pressure you put on it, the longer it's gonna take to heal. Sorry to hear about that!

Broke a metatarsal in October and it still bothers me from time to time. I should have stayed off of it longer. Stay off the whole 6 weeks. If you only stay off 2 weeks, you'll regret it.

A plate and some screws, i.e., surgery.

I broke my 3rd and 4th meditarcels last spring and walked around on it for 2 weeks before I saw a doctor. The specialist gave me a flat-bottomed hard shoe to walk around in. He told me..."Not really a lot you can do" so I tried to stay off of it as much as possible and I would say it was 80-90% in a month.

My spinal surgeon told me not to take anti-inflammatories like ibuprofin. Instead, take acetomeniphin (sp?). Some racers also suggested drinking pineapple juice.

Re: Looking for tips on how to heal broken bones quickly

Isn't Viccadin, acetaminophen with a bit of Codine? Maybe I should start poping more of those?
But seriously, thanks for any tip you might have.

Gelatin, Glucosamine & Chondroitin, Good Multi Vitamins. http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/e...jsp?id=VS-1656
A friend suggested this when I told him my Fibula wasn't healing.... I think it helped quite a bit. My wife adds the extra Gelatin to my Jello .

I'm taking Flex-a-min already. And also OS Cal calcium. Are you serious about the Gelatin? What does that do?
Thanks!
