Egad! That place is a sty! My guess is with a herd like that the yard is the last thing on their minds. And if they are Catholic, birth control is a NO-NO accroding to the Pope.

You are correct on the fridge. Any appliance with the doors left on can become a trap for children, even if it doesn't look like it would. Freezer, dryer, fridge, etc. Ever seen a kid try to open the fridge from the outside? It can be tough for them even with a handle. And it doesn't take much time to expend all of the air.

Good call on the rats & even mice (hanta virus, anyone?). Is there a local CDC office?

Maybe you could organize a neighborhood spring clean-up day? Stick a flyer on the doors of the houses in your section, including theirs. Have everyone pitch in AS A TEAM to clean up. Shouldn't be hard if everyone feels the same as you (very likely). Have some kid activity (bubble blowing, chalk drawing, etc) with a teenage monitor to get those kids out of the house during the cleaning. With the kids in the mix, the parents are rather obligated to be a part of it. Maybe they would appreciate the offer of help??? Could be the mess has gotten overwhelming for them to deal with and they've given up.

Good luck! I know how frustrating that stuff can be. (my mom has a neighbor who literally mows around his sail boat on the side yard, and lets his kid run in the front yard naked. Nice...

Rent a "chipper" and run them through it, ala Fargo?

No seriously, take a day and help his stinky ass clean it up. The probable embarassment that you cause may initiate his own maintenance cleanup after that. Or maybe not, but at least it won't be an eyesore for awhile.

Re: Dirty Neighbors

I and some neighbors have asked him to clean this up several times with no results at all. I could have all that **** cleaned up in about a day and a half with a bobcat and a dump truck which I can get. But he does not want help or the yard to be cleaned up. About 3 years ago he has a patch of grass about 15 feet in dia. that he never mowed he only mowed paths everywhere and the grass was 2 ft tall. We all asked him to mow it, he said it was "rabbit habitat". So one sunday whe all the tribe went to church I cranked up the Dixie Chopper that I had borrowed from work and had at it, Rats, snakes, turtles,etc.... ran for cover. HE WAS PISSED, and offered $100 to the neighbor for information on who did it. I forund out about the reward and turned myself in. Chicken ****, and a broke one at that. I could not move if I wanted to now, I would loose about 20k on the value of my home right now if I tried to sell.

The mysterious match may work and I have thought about it. The state open burn ordinance states that a person who accumulated debris cannot be held harmless if said debris catches fire by vandals or other means.......

OMG! At one point last summer we had a neighbor who had not 1, but 2 side-by-side refrigerators on his porch, and 2 recliners in the yard. I mentioned it on the air, being very generic as to location, but still got e-mails from neighbors I'd never met who had also seen this guy peeing off his porch. Not sure if he listens to our station, but soon after the yard was neat and tidy.

You might try calling your local radio station, giving them the main info, maybe even sending a pic to them, making sure to not have a house number or street recognizable (legal issues with that). Maybe just the nighborhood or general area. Other callers will fill in the blanks. If you can get his number, have the jocks call him and ask how much he wants for the junk in his yard (old truck parts, piles of brush, etc).

Maybe they could even send an intern over to help clean some of it up.

Ever heard of these guys

They are about 30 miles from here and another station loves to make fun of the town by me, I know for a fact he would have it on the show.

Most excellent idea.

I also wanted to go on record stating that not everyone with 8 kids is welfare surfing trash that "lives" in those conditions.

I have no problem with them having as many kids as they can have, as long as they pay for it, not me and you.
He and his brother (just alike) are having a contest to see how many kids they can have in their lifetime. So this is going to be an ongoing thing.
Another thing, I hate it when the mom(i use that lightly) mows grass. She has to do it in her bikini, you thing SOB looks bad in one? I will get pics so you all can suffer along with me.

Re: Dirty Neighbors

Bob and Tom is now notified, if someone hears this post up i cannot listen at work.

Repeater, that is what the Non Conforming use is, it allows him to use the property for business purposes.

Every state, county agency agrees with our complaint but no one is willing to do something about it.

Re: Dirty Neighbors

Have a 'hood rummage sale, that guy would be rich, hes got a used fridge, weight bench, air conditioner, plenty of fire wood.

You can always have a friend go to his house pretending to be child services or a enviromental angency and give him papers (fake of course) that he has to clean the place up or be Mega-fined.

I say at nite, take garbage that is untracable and start dumping it into his yard at 4 in the morn. or start a pile of brush on fire, they do self-ignite ya know.

Are you sure this house doesn't belong to Sheep? It looks like some of the stuff I have seen while passing through Alabama.

Re: Dirty Neighbors

This is why I choose to live in a neighborhood the has deed restrictions. Say what you will about them and the people that abuse the power, but I do not want to live in a place that has neighbors living like rats.

It would be a nightmare. When you spend hard earned money for a house, you do not want your neighbor dictating the worth of your property because they are to lazy to clean up after themselves.
