It would be a nightmare. When you spend hard earned money for a house, you do not want your neighbor dictating the worth of your property because they are to lazy to clean up after themselves. |
I am not a homeowner, but while in college I lived in a house for 2 years with some buddies. We were all pretty clean guys, and our neighbors weren't bad either. Then...a WT (that's white trash, y'all) family moves in 2 houses down. They had shite literally packed inside their house so tightly that it was hard to walk around (I only saw through open doors), and they--I **** you not--set up a tent in the backyard to store stuff in. That was, of course, to compliment the plethora of bikes, toys, trash, appliances, etc. Disgusting!!
I liked it better when the college kids lived there and all I had to look at was an empty keg and some folding chairs! |

Every state, county agency agrees with our complaint but no one is willing to do something about it. | In my area, I believe businesses have to construct walls or something to prevent others from seeing their mess. Might want to check into that one.
Also, have you tried the fire marshal? That sure looks like a fire trap waiting to happen, and if it is a business location, then I'm sure that building should have to have at least the minimum of fire protection ... smoke detectors, clear walk paths, etc.
With all of that dried brush and all those broken down vehicles that could be leaking (do you smell gasoline? ), sure sounds like a hazard that the fire department would be interested in cleaning up. |

| Re: Dirty Neighbors The planning commission told him the vehicles have to be removed last week and that he has 30 days to do so. They also told him this 3 years ago. But this is a new guy in here now, so who knows.
Good idea on the "business code". I know that building is not to fire code, and the wiring is not commercial code compliant. |

| Re: Dirty Neighbors Wait till you see his work truck, Hid buisness name is "crockidile services" and has a crock in vilyl on the side of a white chevy dually. The toyota used to be his work truck, it was an old Dominoes pizza delivery truck. That is like buying a rental car. About 2 years ago he fostered a dog and tied it to a tire, let it stay outside till he actually froze to death.
This is not stuff I am making up, this is just stuff I think of he has done over the years. |

I think he wanted to have his own business, but didn't really want to work. What better than become a "crockidile" hunter in Indiana?

| Re: Dirty Neighbors I don't know if I'd go as far as to say I dislike reptiles, I don't fear them, but I don't want a whole bunch of them in my yard (well, little lizards and such would be all right)with little ones running around either.
Just like I don't want Mt lions, bears, coyotes or pit bulls around them. |

| Re: Dirty Neighbors Another update:
Talked to the Planning commission thursday of last week. He said he was planning a visit to the property but still said he is just bluffing. He said since he has the non-conforming use that he is allowed to do this to his property.
They contend that once a non-conforming use is issued it cannot be revoked except for certian reasons, including variance of buisness type or new buildings. He has built a new building but I have no proof that it was never there as the planning commission lost the file from a couple of years ago.
The health department said he is not in violation of any state laws after their visit.
The pics before did not show the amount of vegitation growing around everywhere but hope this gives a little better view. |
