And no, I definately don't want you to get an import! | But what really is an import nowadays...Accord (for example) made in the USA...GTO imported from Australia... |

The RSX will probably be replaced in the next year.

They aren't just costing the US "dirty manufacturing" jobs anymore. It is already well underway here in the auto industry ... we had 30 day notices go out to a lot of people the last couple days ... 30 days to find another job (I think there ar 5 postings in the whole company) or you are out. Purchasing and engineering were hit, IT was hit before and will be again soon. Trickle down is coming.
For me ... Ford Contour and a Ford Bronco ... trying to do my part. |

For me ... Ford Contour and a Ford Bronco ... trying to do my part. | I was referring to the manufacturing really. But when you deal with the engineering aspect of it everything kind of goes out the window. So many companies import and domestic source or outsource their engineering/parts etc to this country and others. Delphi..Nissin...it doesnt make economic sense for the car companies no matter where they are located to design and engineer every single component. They may just spec it out or buy it off the shelf from a supplier. |

What will be left is the face to the customer, most all else will go to low-development cost countries (LDC ... they even have an acronymn ). Currently, Delphi is primarily a North American company, with NA or European employees, but it is changing ... Nissin, Nissan, Honda, etc. are already based in those countries, and even though you see their names and technology centers here, the actual number of people is very low compared to the domestics.
Sorry for the ... back to your normally scheduled program Quote:
You think I can pull my trailer with that? | Frenchie,
I'm sure you can pull your trailer with the Vette, but you might have to get a gooseneck and put the ball on the roof. My little Contour with a 2.5L does pretty good hauling a couple bikes on a 5x8. |

Thank the upper management of the 60's-early 80's that allowed the unions to blackmail them into giving employees more than fair compensation.

HD | ... or pigeon holing the job descriptions so that many people end up doing very little work in a day, or the "jobs bank" arrangement that gives laid-off (read as should be terminated but we don't do that) people 90% of their salaries to sit and play cards
And don't forget the management of the late-80's through today who only know how to make things profitable by cutting costs ... and the people to make things work. Unfortunate spiral. |

You think a 12 x 8 V closed trailer work?
I see this guy at some track days that has a small sport car pulling one of those 1 bike trailer... looks pretty neat. |

I used to tow with my WRX, which actually worked very well. The truck works like it should, but the scooby pulled a 5x8 with two bikes on it much better than I thought it would. |

Sold that and now we're down to a 2002 Mazda Protege 5 and a 1998 4X4 Durango for towing. I like the Durango even though its thirsty
Oh, I don't want to forget the molester van that I used to own... |
