Re: Does this look fishy?

The bike just fell over and sustained enough damage to be totaled by the insurance company? WTF?

Looks legit to me The price is about right, even though it's salvage. It'll make a perfect track bike for someone

Re: Does this look fishy?

How much could the damage have been, money-wise, if it's as he stated? Maybe a thousand or two at the most?? I thought insurance companies totalled a bike when the damage was more than the blue book value. If that's the case, how can scratched plastics on a brand-new bike amount to enough damage that the insurance company considered it totalled? Seems a bit odd to me, too.

Re: Does this look fishy?

If there is 1 scratch on the swingarm, the insurance adjuster can elect to replace it. Same for the frame. For the wheels. Etc Etc...

Seems legit to me.

Re: Does this look fishy?

Jeez, one scratch, huh? I guess that makes some sense, since you'd want it returned to original condition after an accident, I guess that's what insurance is for. No wonder rates are so high, though, when a new bike is totalled for some scratches....

Agreed, but he states that no damage was done to the frame or swingarm.
