Right folks this thread, speaks for itself. This is how I want it to work
Last film you saw, what you thought of it, marks out of ten.

Last film I saw was G-Force (3D).
Loved watching it with kids all around me as the effects of the 3D had some them jumping out of their seats to "catch" things. Movie itself was a good kiddy one but the 3D effects did it for me.
Score from a family point of view 8/10



Last Blu-ray I purchased:

Knowing:: Nicholas Cage

Bought on a hunch, quick read of the sleeve and thought that sounded good.
So disappointed...very slow, missed the fear factor by miles, where there should have been tension NC looked lost in the scene. Its a disaster movie with a horrible ending and to crown it out the symbolism in the last scene is pathetic.
If you do watch it make sure you have two prozacs and a glass of water handy for when it finishes.
Waste of money, if you need to purchase wait until it comes way down in price and just get it on dvd.

Score....3/10

Mines old choices

Silence of the Lambs - Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins 10/10
I enjoyed the mind games, interactive phychology between the two.

Other is a classic - Nosforato - one of the spookest Dracula/living dead fims ever made. 9/10

Cape Fear - Robert De niro another physiclogial classic. 10/10

Ok Jane some others for you, like your type of movies but a lot of the time I like to switch off.

Hard Candy 9.5/10 (When watched for the first time)

I agree, The Departed put together 4 brilliant actors in 1 film it was very powerful.

best bit for me was when Walburg broke down Decaprio when he was asked why he wanted to join them, that was a good bit of writing and acting.

Public Enemies..Although not too historically accurate, with a lot of temporal errors, great movie overall 9.5

Gran Torino:

I was amazed by this film, it was excellant, Delighted by the way it entices you to develope such a love/hate relationship with the main character through out the films' progress.

Possibilities of this film were Huge!, but it just did'nt deliver. Wooden acting and not enough 'fear' feeling from the new and awesome machines/terminators.

Could of been a LOT better. And there's talk of another 2 films?

The graphics were done really well, with also the story of the movie. It took it a little while to get going. All in all I really enjoyed it for a alien type of movie.

District 9, 5 out of ten (no boobies), but better than G.I. Joe (except for the hot chick)

Last DVD was Dead like me (the movie spin of of the tv show) a solid 7.5

Blu-ray can kiss my ass, there are only a few to choose from at the store, therefore I shall wait to purchase one when the price comes down a bit or when there are more movies to rent.

We have unlimited choices here and the prices are dropping all the time. Have to say though the new ones are still too pricey

Yup, I think it has to do with the whole HD vs Blu-ray fight. Once the format of choice is in stone the price should come down and more vids should come out.

I meant player.....they're getting cheap $150ish. but the LCD i'd put it on is taking a dump, so maybe I'll get one when i get a new TV.

Definately needs a good tv/screen to see the benefits

I have a 60 DLP 1080P in my livingroom, but I tend to watch more movies in the bedroom, and an old 29 inch 720P LCD without HDMI won't quite cut it....time for more toys hahaha
