| Can someone explain the inflation index?  I don't get it. What are the feds using to determine the annual inflation rate? The only thing I can figure is that they are using a collection of items including toaster ovens, 8-track tapes, thumbtacks and Honda's Superhawk. How can inflation really be only 1 or 2 %? Look at gas prices, insurance premiums, tuition, food, housing, you know, the stuff we actually need to survive and compete. Is this another bogus # to make us feel better? | |
