| Truly racist Senators Senator Christopher Dodd, D., CT. stated on the floor of the Sentate that Senator Robert Byrd is a "man for all seasons."
He said that Byrd would have been right during the formation of this country, and that he would have been "right during the great conflict of civil war in this nation." Dodd went on to say that he couldn't think of a time in the history of this nation when Robert Byrd wouldn't have been right for the country. He went on and on about how great a man Byrd is.
Anyone need a history lesson on the great man Robert Byrd? The same Robert Byrd that has never publicly renounced his membership with the KKK? The same Robert Byrd that has actively taken part in cross burnings and anti-negro demonstrations?
This guy would have been right for the country during the Civil War? The war where the Republican federal government wanted to liberate the slaves from the democratically-run south? The war that was ultimately capped off with Republican President Abraham Lincoln freeing the slaves?
Oh, yeah, I guess that the democrats would think him right for that era.
This was said on the floor of the Senate, and is full public record, over a week ago.
The praise Senator Trent Lott gave at a private birthday celebration for Strom Thurmond - a man that was never a member of the KKK and never burned crosses - which words were completely and baselessly twisted into racism by the left wing radical liberals and their henchmen in the mainstream media took TWO DAYS to become heated.
One week, praise for a known racist has been buried. Two days, praise for dying man 100 years of age that had nothing to do with race becomes an uproar.
What's the difference? Lott is a Republican.
Yup, no liberal bias at CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, the New York Times and the rest of the garbage news outlets.
Only ONE news station talked about his comments. The only station we can get the whole story. FoxNews.
Gotta love them libs. |

| Re: Truly racist Senators I think the term is "selective media" meaning they decide what should be news and what shouldn't.
Just do what I do:
Gather all the info you can from multiple sources, digest it, and form your own conclusions.
You're right on point about how this was buried and the Lott situation was front page
I think BOTH situations are news and the public should hear about them, but sadly that doesn't happen. |

| Re: Truly racist Senators Byrd is doing something right ...that SOB gets more freakin money for West Virginia(is WV a state?). You would think something like being in the KKK would sink him but it won't. Oh well, at least he's in WV - the armpit of VA - there now I said it feel much better now. |

| Not entirely true, BDA. Though I have no particular love for PMSNBC, my main man Joe Scarborough has made MANY references to it. Joe is my former Congressman(R.) from Florida, and a staunch conservative, the only saving grace on that channel since they let Keys go.
He has an hour long program that comes on right after that wretched scab Debra Norville's show.
Saddest thing is, did we really even NEED any more evidence as to the ultra hypocrisy that exists on the left and their lapdog media outlets?

Gotta love them libs. | I totally agree, no equal treatment here. What Dodd said was wrong but the lib tv news is not reporting it, guess it should not be a surprise. Stuff like this makes me mad and is the reason I watch FOX. It is also the reason I am a Republican, the Dems are 2 faced, well at least more so. No one is perfect but come on, Dodd was totally wrong. |
